Advancing CGPP Implementation: NEDA Registration Briefing and Site Engagement

In January 2024, Single Buyer undertook key engagements to strengthen implementation readiness under the New Enhanced Dispatch Arrangement (NEDA) framework in support of the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP).

On 17 January 2024, Single Buyer and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) conducted a technical site visit to NEDA Power’s 8MW solar facility in Sungai Tiang, Pendang, Kedah — the first solar plant operating under the NEDA scheme. The visit provided operational insights into plant performance, dispatch integration and compliance requirements, reinforcing the practical foundations of market participation under NEDA.

This was followed by an online briefing on 23 January 2024 for the second batch of successful CGPP applicants. The session was attended by representatives from ten solar power producer companies, alongside Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Grid System Operator, Grid Planning and Distribution Network teams. The briefing outlined the NEDA registration framework, procedural requirements and operational parameters to ensure transparent and timely onboarding into the market.

The interactive session also enabled participants to seek clarification on registration processes, dispatch protocols and compliance expectations — strengthening alignment across regulators, system operators and market participants.

Through structured industry engagement and operational validation, Single Buyer continues to institutionalise clear market entry pathways under NEDA, enhancing transparency, implementation certainty and orderly integration of renewable capacity into Malaysia’s electricity market.
