Low Carbon Energy Generation Programme
On 26 January 2024, in conjunction with International Day of Clean Energy, the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) had announced the Low Carbon Energy Generation Programme for non-solar renewable resources through the New Enhanced Dispatch Arrangement (NEDA) mechanism.
The non-solar renewable resources among others include wind, small hydro, biogas, biomass and hydrogen. A total quota of 400 MW has been allocated for the programme, whereby participation will be based on ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Application is open from 5 February 2024.

Participation in NEDA
For the program, applicants may choose to participate under one (1) of following two (2) categories, depending on the plant’s capacity:
1. Large Merchant Generator – 30 MW and above
2. Price Taker - less than 30 MW
System Marginal Price
The settlement for participants under the program will be based on half-hourly System Marginal Price (SMP).
