Single Buyer (SB) recently embarked on the True Cost of Solar Study (TCoS), with London Economics International (LEI) as the engaged consultant. The objectives of this study are:

• To identify and quantify the associated costs incurred to the system due to solar PV integration
• To identify a tariff framework to fairly allocate the associated costs to relevant stakeholders
• To analyse the socio-economic impacts of solar PV integration

Two online workshops were conducted by LEI on 10 February 2022 and 14 April 2022 respectively. These workshops were participated by representatives from SB, ST, KETSA, SEDA, GSO and TNB. The aims of the workshop are to present the methodology and findings of the study, as well as to obtain feedback and consensus from the various stakeholders.

On 21 April 2022, the outcome of the study was presented during the Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) Workshop held in Zenith Hotel Putrajaya. This workshop was participated by various stakeholders such as ST, KETSA, SEDA, GSO and MyPower.

On 14 June 2022, SB delivered a presentation on the project to the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources at his office in Putrajaya.
