From 25 – 28 October 2022, 2 representatives from Single Buyer attended the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2022 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. This annual event is a platform for energy professionals, experts and policymakers worldwide to share best practices and exchange spectrum of ideas in shaping the energy landscape.
Anchored by Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore, “A Resilient and Sustainable Energy Future” had been chosen as the theme for this year’s SIEW. It focused on the initiatives to accelerate the decarbonization in the niche of energy segment by riding on the green agenda globally. Despite gaining strong momentum on a sustainable energy, the system must continue to evolve and be resilient to face the challenges coming from this energy transition. Some other topics discussed during the week were green infrastructure, green financing, hydrogen, battery and energy storage system (BESS), and carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS).
SIEW 2022 provides an invaluable platform for Single Buyer staff to gain knowledge on the latest developments and technology as well as to benchmark the Malaysia Electricity Supply Industry (MESI) evolution with other jurisdictions for betterment of the industry.
